Noraetgarak
Noraetgarak is a popular folk song in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheong Province. It was originally derived from sijo (poem) by the shamans of Seoul area who performed in the royal court, but it later became a folk song. Currently, contrary to the trend of valuing classical vocal songs more than folk songs, a view that the sijo derived from Noraetgarak has appeared. The text describes filial piety and loyalty to the king.
