Gyeongbokgungtaryeong

Gyeongbokgungtaryeong was created in the late Joseon Dynasty when Heungseon Daewongun(Gojong`s father) restored the Gyeongbok Palace (gung). There are two views on the origin of the song: One view is that Gyeongbokgungtaryeong was created to express the commoners` resentment of the reconstruction; the other is that to increase efficiency during the reconstructing work. Between the two views, the second view is regarded as more plausible. The chorus section of this song is the same as that of the Gyeonggi folk song Bangataryeong.
