Bangataryeong/Jajinbangataryeong
Folk songs called Bangataryeong exist in many regions reflecting Korea`s agricultural society and food culture. Banga is a device used for grinding grain, and Bangataryeong was sung when people gathered to grind grain. Jajinbangtaryeong, which has a little faster tempo, is sung after Bangataryeong. The text of the Gyeonggi region Banataryeong is rich and cites many Chinese historical events or poems. Although this piece is categorized under folk songs, Bangataryeong was developed by professional singers.
