Jongmyo Jeryeak, the royal ancestral rite, is certainly a historical rarity in the world that has continued over the last six hundred years from generation to generation which manifests noble spirit of our ancestors praying for the country''''s peace and prosperity. Once a year, The special concert you can meet Only at The National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts Program InfomationRestoration of Samhyun-samjook compositionSamhyun-samjook refers to the composition of three major string instruments(Gayageum, Geomungo and Korean mandolin, lute) and three major woodwind instruments(Daegeum, Junggeum, Sogeum). Samhyun-samjook can find its origin from Jongmyo Jeryeak in which the use of three major string instruments have been discontinued over time. This concert will revive its original melody playing these string instruments for the first time since the Japanese occupation. Restoration of authentic HeongaOne of the biggest royal ritual ceremonies in the Joseon Dynasty, Jongmyo Jerye had its original composition reduced over time due to numerous reasons. Especially, aligned Pyeonjong and Pyeongyeong as one line and three-∩ shaped composition of each will show the authentic Jongmyo Jeryeak at its highest peak. Reproduction of (the meaning of) InjeNogo and Nodo, conceived as more than mere musical instruments, were the essential ritual objects in the ritual ceremony. This concert will reproduce the meaning of Inje by adding these two instruments as the original ritual ceremony was performed with.
